This is an original Newspaper Hoarding Poster for The New Standard ( London ) from 9th December 1980. John Lennon was shot in New York on the 8th December 1980 10.52 pm USA time but in the UK because of the time difference it was actually the 9th December 1980. This is the first issue Poster which mirrors the words on the New Standard front page ( A London only Newspaper ). The person I got this off was drinking in a pub in London when he saw this go up outside + was retrieved by his Girlfriend from the hoarding Its behind perspex at present loose framed so will be sent rolled up in poster tube without its frame For previous generations it used to be said you could remember what you were doing when Kennedy got shot but for my generation substitute Lennon. I still remember the profound shock + utter pointlessness of his murder even though it was nearly 37 years ago now ! Posting immediate Will post Worldwide
