Description
This is a rather unique item and is a bit difficult to describe so please read all the way through. This is JOHN LENNEN and YOKO ONO's Lp WEDDING ALBUM on Apple Records # SMAX 3361. This is a box set. Now when this album acame out the box was hastley made with very thin and flimsy cardboard that fell apart within weeks of owning. I will be hosnest and say that the cover to the box has fallen apart. There are pieces of the cover missing and the rest has been taped together. But this Lp non the less is a treasure trove of items that MUST be discribed. First of all, inside the flimsy cover is a replica of John and Yoko's marriage licence when they were married on March 20th, 1969 in Gibraltar. Also included are the following items: a white plastic bag with the word "Bagism" which includes a photo of a piece of wedding cake for you, a photo strip from a photo machine found everywhere at arcades at the time of four photos of John and Yoko, a post card of John and Yoko in bed in Amsterdam for their "bed in for peace", a fold out in which one side has a drawing from John while the other has a drawing from Yoko, a white fold out poster of photos of The Wedding which depicts photos of them in Amsterdam for the famous "bed in", a black booklet called "The Press" which shows many different press articles from all over the world about their "bed in for peace", and the the actual album itself: a cover that shows John and Yoko kissing which opens up and shows more photos of the 'bed in". Now Side one of the Lp is called "John & Yoko" which lasts for 22:23. And that's all it is..John and Yoko calling out each other's names. It's amazing how many different ways they can call out their names. And it lasts the whole 22:23. The flip side is "Amsterdam" whis is 24:52. This side has many different interviews with John and Yoko about the things that were going on at the time most importantly the "bed in for peace" which is the real treasure. Now the white "Wedding" poster has rested against the black "Press" booklet so some of the black as left its mark on the white. The actual album cover itself (not the box) is in great condition. The spine is in perfect conition. The vinyl record itself shows some marks from sliding in and out of the inner sleeve and you may hear a pop or click now and then but hey, we're talking about an Lp that's 42 years old. The box as I had mentioned is white, faded yellow a bit, is dirty (because it's white) and is broken because it was made of inexpensive thin cardboard. Regaurdless of the shape of the box this truely is a collector's item for any diehard John Lennon fan.
