Description
John McLaughlin Devotion Douglas 4 Records 1970 1st US pressing variant with blue and silver labels original very psychedelic inner sleeve.
Brilliant album by one of the true guitar masters.
The record grades a strong VG++ there are some light marks and sleeve removal marks, nothing deep.
The record cover is in VG++ to the Near Mint inner (see scans).

I have two different early pressings of this...the common one with a red & orange Douglas label & one rarer example (...which I just found) with a dark blue label & "Douglas" written in the same script as it is on the front cover. Both are gatefolds, have old-school thick stock covers and appear to be originals...they sound fairly identical...decent. The blue one mentions on the label & cover "Distributed by PIP a division of Pickwick International Inc" and has a slightly re-arranged back cover missing the "new" Douglas logo on the red/orange label version. Rumour has it (..and I'm inclined to believe it..) that this is actually the 1st pressing. The Blue label one also contains a light cardboard "psychedelic" "Douglas" inner sleeve which I've never seen before...a typical value added item you get on first pressings & missing on later ones.
I've been collecting records for over 55 years now and this album is from my personal collection.
