An Australian Original press on the Trinity label catalog # TR 1002 and made in Australia 1973
Comments:
In 1973 John Sangster was commissioned to produce this album for a film being produced to promote Surfer’s Paradise in Queensland. “The Paradise album is a suite of original music composed by well know Australian musician JOHN SANGSTER and played by the John Sanster Concert Orchestra” The concept for the album was developed by John Sangster, producer Warren Mills and Ross Farquhar (who also worked on the “Australia & all that Jazz” series).
The liner notes say: “The albums aim was to capture the complete sound, the visual experience and to communicate the atmosphere and sheer excitement that is the Gold Coast” The Gatefold cover features a 16 page photo booklet bound inside the cover with a series of photo’s taken around Surfers Paradise.
The album itself has a laid back jazzy feel combining elements of bossa nova, funky guitar, field recordings (of local wildlife) and Lounge style grooves. Overall a great album.
Condition:
Record: E+
This record is in excellent condition and is very clean with no marks. It plays great loud and clean with no background noise. Labels are clean.
Sleeve: VG+
This gatefold record cover is clean except for minor shelf wear and a sticker removal mark on the front and light spots on the inside gatefold. 16 page booklet is very clean.
