Description

John Surman's "How Many Clouds Can You See?" is a rare 1970 vinyl LP on the Deram label. This free jazz record features the artist's innovative style. Pressed on black vinyl and plays at a speed of 33 RPM. The 12" record comes in a cardboard sleeve and is graded as Very Good. Catalogued as Deram SML-R 1045, this rare free / contemporary jazz recording is a must for fans of the genre and of course fans of John Surman.

Condition of the vinyl: It has been loved and played and is showing some light marks/ hairlines commensurate with age and play. Nothing significant. A solid VG grading

Condition of the cover: Laminated to the front. Showing ring wear to back and front with age and storage. The back cover shows an “indicator hole” to show the colour of the inner record sleeve …blue for stereo & red for mono. ( The original coloured sleeve is not supplied with this recording).

Cover printed by Clout & Baker.

Some slight wear to the back in two small areas. Generally the cover is fine for its age and is graded as VG.

Vinyl Grading Guide

The vinyl is graded with the standard UK Record Collector Magazine grading system.

All items listed are UK release, standard black vinyl unless stated.


Mint (M)
The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. 

Excellent (Ex)
The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

Very Good (Vg)
The record has obviously been played many times, and may have slight deterioration in sound quality, noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Sleeve will have wear and tear, as expected for its age.

Good (Gd)
The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and scratches. The cover and contents suffer from significant folding, scuffing of edges, discolouration, etc.
