Description
- Excellent copy of the 1953 extremely rare 10 inch Original Soundtrack LP, with John Wayne narration and sound effects, of the music from the 1953 motion picture "Island In The Sky" (Decca DL 7029) with orchestra under the direction of Emil Newman.
- This movie (starring John Wayne and directed by William Wellman) concerned the crash landing of an Air Force plane in the wilds of Labrador and the efforts of the crew to stay alive.
- The glossy LP looks and plays surprisingly well with crisp, clear playback. There are a few marks but are for the most part superficial. You should expect some light surface noise but nothing that detracts from the enjoyment of this very collectible soundtrack. The cover, with a great picture of John Wayne, is in excellent condition. There are some original price tags and some overall light wear and aging but they do not interfere with the graphics or excellent liner notes that include a short biography of John Wayne. The bottom seam has been reinforced with acid free archival quality invisible tape. The labels are both near mint.
