JOHN WINDHURST QUARTET "JAZZ AT COLUMBUS AVE." LP - On TRANSITION Records, #TRLP-J-2.   Extremely rare MONO pressing from 1956.  Thick FLAT EDGE vinyl, thick laminated cardboard cover.  The personnel:  John (Johnny) Windhurst (Trumpet), Jim Andrews (Piano), Buell Neidlinger (Bass), and Walter Gifford (Drums).  On the last track Andrews is replaced by Bud Blacklock on piano and Hamilton Carson is added on tenor sax.  The vinyl is in VG+ condition (beautiful gloss, some scuffs & small hairlines).  Plays with no skips but has quite a few clicks and pops. The clicks/pops do not detract at all from the excellent music.  There is one very tiny pressing bump on side A that is barely audible for just a few revolutions.  The thick laminated jacket is in excellent shape, displays wonderfully.  There is very faint tape residue on three edges.  The word "Sample" is written written at top left on front - probably removable.  There are NO seam splits, cut-out marks, NO bends and creases, and the front cover graphics are particularly striking.  The textured back of the cover is black and blank.  The booklet is not included.  The songs are:  Back In Your Own Backyard; You Do Something To Me; Memphis Blues; Strut Miss Lizzie; Lover Come Back To Me; Georgia On My Mind; When You're Smiling.
