JOHNNY HODGES - "Z.P.G." - RARE JAP ONLY SCI-FI 7”!!!
Mad rare sci-fi OST obscurity! Definitely not one you see floating on the ‘Bay much. This is the muzak from a forgotten seventies drama, the premise of which is the prohibition of childbirth! Music here is from alto-sax player Johnny Hodges, who delivers a lovely, slightly melancholy slice of jaZzZzZz on the B side – “Can we believe a future?” - check out the soundclip. . .
Japanese only release, methinks.
A side contains the main title theme, “Z.P.G.”. That’s “zero population growth” to you, sonny.
On the collectible Seven Seas label (HIT 2078) from 1971.
GRADING:
RECORD is NM, looks great – and it’s a white label promo!
COVER is VG+, damage from sticker removal in bottom right hand corner – see scan. Still fairly presentable.
