Description

 

As the Memphis Melody Players, Johnny Sylvester & His

Orchestra do "A Blues Serenade" on Challenge 234. This

was recorded at Gennett studios in New York on January

3, 1927. There is a great clarinet solo done by either

Larry Abbott or Jimmie Lytell.


On the reverse side, also recorded at Gennett a month

earlier, is Elmer Grosso & His Orchestra doing

"Thinking Of You." They play under the guise of

Northwest Collegians.


The record is in V+ condition. Some slight graininess

and small scratches produce some noise.
