Description
Selling-up my extensive record collection. Lots of interesting records in the collection - do have a look at my other items, and there are new listings every week. I may have obscure things that you didn't even know you wanted!
Here is an original 1977 UK copy of LAMF. Cover's worn, record has damages, but it plays well.
Pictures are my own photos of the items for sale. Photos are part of the description, have a good look.
Cover - is blacker than it looks in my photos, but the photos do illustrate the wear on it. This has lots of surface wear, generally ring-wear - where the black ink has worn-off. Heavy scallop creases at top half of opening. Wear all around the edges. On the other hand, not split, torn or written-on..
Record - is still black and shiny, labels are very nice. However, record has too many scratches and marks to list, some quite nasty-looking. I was interested to see how it would play, so I play-tested it - loud, on my posh hi-fi. Results were very good. BTW, this is famously not a very good-sounding album, even when new. "Chinese Rocks" and "Goin' Steady" are awful, the rest just not good. Playing it loud on high-end equipment, it sounds pretty good - and it's a great bunch of little songs, played by a great little group. This copy (finally, he gets to the point..) plays well. Doesn't skip or catch. Noisy groups drown-out effects from scratches, and that's the case here. You won't hear persistent crackling, and only a few clicks per side, generally not loud, but one loud one near start of side two. No repeated once-per-rotation clicks, and the original sound is still all there. Generally brief or no gaps between tracks, so one doesn't even hear crackles between tracks, much.
Postage at cost within UK - £3.00 plus 50p for a proper record mailer with two stiffener sheets of cardboard (or whatever's appropriate). Happy to do combined postage wherever practical. I'll charge you what it costs me - so anything up to six (or so) LPs would still be the same charge, £3.50. I'm happy to send this overseas. See below for details, if bidding from outside UK - YOU NEED TO KNOW THIS STUFF.
Dispatch will usually be "next day".
Collection in person is welcome. I don't mail things personally, to countries outside the UK - ( I mean it, don't ask) - but I am happy to use E-Bay UK's Global Shipping Program, for sending things abroad. Under this scheme, I send the parcel to an e-bay depot in UK, and they forward it to the overseas buyer.
They have a tracked courier service, for the journey from their UK depot, to the buyer.
This means that I can ONLY accept payments through e-bay (Pay Now button), and I can't send invoices.
E-Bay UK tells me, they do NOT do combined postage in the Global Shipping Programme. Charges to the customer for delivery and customs charges are whatever you're told they are - if you don't want to pay the postal / courier charges individually for the items, then do not bid. HOWEVER, if you win several items, and pay for them all in the same payment, their system may well spot this and do combined postage. If this happens, pay what you're told, and I will refund the excess postage paid to me - if you buy three LPs, I would be getting three lots of £3.50, but I can send all in one parcel, so I only need one lot of £3.50, usually. The exception is, if the items you buy weigh more than 2 kilos altogether, I need to make two parcels - there is a special cheap postage rate in UK, for parcels under 2 kilos. Overseas customers - please DON'T request an invoice - I can't make one, and it screws-up the e-bay system.
International buyers should be able to see a postage cost to their country, you may have to input your location, if your country is included in the scheme.
If your country is not mentioned, please do not bid.
International postage to the following countries will be shown (this is the latest list that I've seen - lotta countries!)
Australia Austria Belgium Bulgaria Canada Croatia Cyprus Czech Republic Denmark Finland France Germany Greece Hungary Ireland Israel Italy Japan Lithuania Luxembourg Malta Netherlands New Zealand Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Singapore, South Korea, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand Turkey Norway Poland Portugal Romania Russia Slovakia Slovenia Spain Sweden, United States, Antigua & Barbuda Aruba Bangladesh Barbados Belize Bermuda Bolivia Brunei Darussalam Cambodia Cayman Islands Dominica Ecuador Egypt French Guiana Gibraltar Grenada Guadeloupe Guernsey Iceland Jersey Jordan Liechtenstein Macau Maldives Martinique Monaco Montserrat Nicaragua Oman Pakistan Paraguay Peru Reunion Saint Kitts & Nevis Saint Lucia Sri Lanka and Turks & Caicos Islands
Applicable customs charges will probably be shown to buyers in non-EU countries - E-Bay collects customs duty for the receiving country, wherever import duty is appropriate. If you don't want to pay the customs charges, do not bid.
I don't send to China (because I prefer not to), and I also don't send to Japan, Brazil, Ecuador and Peru, as importation of vinyl records is not permitted in their customs regulations.
