  For sale is Johnny Winter 3rd Degree, originally released in 1986 by Alligator Records. According to the liner notes, this record was mastered by Ted Jensen. In the dead wax between the labels and the last tracks is etched "HUB" and "Sterling", signifying that this album was mastered at Sterling Sound, N.Y.C. by Ted Jensen before being made at Hub-Serval Record Manufacturing Corporation's pressing plant located in Cranbury, New Jersey. These are hallmarks of state-of-the-art engineering, sought after by collectors and music lovers for their superb sound quality. I bought this used, professionally cleaned it on my VPI HW-17 machine and immediately put this album into a MFSL archival inner sleeve. This protects the integrity of any inner sleeve(s) or insert(s) that may have come with this release. There is no original inner sleeve with this listing. There are two original inserts that are include, both of which are Near Mint. One is a post card for the Alligator Catalog. The other insert is for a home video of "Further on Down the Road" that was available at a pre-release price through the mail. The cover is graded as Excellent because of some  ring wear as well as some edge rubs and minor corner blunts. The spine is Near Mint. The vinyl is visually graded as Near Mint. I'm play grading it as Near Mint. This is the best copy of this hard to find record that I have ever seen or heard. You would be hard pressed to find one like this one ever again, especially with all the original inserts intact. This would make a great addition to anyone's collection.
