Description
Joropo Maracas - Alirio Jose Torrealba Model - Red on Natural Handles
The Alirio Torrealba Signature Joropo Maracas are hand-crafted by artisan luthiers from the totumo gourd, which grows in the prairies of Colombia and Venezuela. These maracas feature handles made from durable Butternut Wood, combining strength and lightness. The handles measure between 5.5 to 6 inches in length, with the overall weight of the maracas ranging from 3 to 4 ounces, depending on the size of the gourd. What gives these maracas their signature tone is the pairing of capacho seeds with the gourd, creating a sound that is unmistakable. The design of the Joropo Maracas is further enhanced by the handle passing entirely through the gourd, with a small section exposed at the top. This feature is key to achieving the necessary balance and tone for authentic Joropo music.Joropo Maracas - Alirio Jose Torrealba Model - Red on Natural Handles
