An original 1st issue of CLOSER on UK Factory. Matrix A1/B1. Etching 'Old Blue?'. Please note there are early translucent red copies = which this example is NOT. But this copy would still have been available for purchase whilst the album charted. The vinyl comes housed in an original textured cover. We also have the bespoke inner all original to the period. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In superb condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of lightest marks per side, a superficial trail - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback with one slightest deviation. Intros and inbetweens are beautifully quiet and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. If you're borderline fanatical about this release - do seriously consider this example. It's not every cover that looks like this example - and it's certainly not every copy that sounds this darn good. There's some all time classic tracks on this release - the feel of the audio and the delivery is imperative to get right. If you get a 50/50 copy it will just not be up to the job. If you feel strongly that this title is worth investing in - get the best audio money can buy. And that's what we have here - it's nigh on perfect. All that nervous bleak atmosphere is cooked up here - big time. You cannot fault it for audio delivery - clean as a whistle throughout. The only slightest thing I could pick up anywhere was a couple of slightest ticks in the first couple of seconds of '24Hrs' - that was it!! And I can assure you that THIS is THE WAY to take this title in. Stunning.
Cover (Ex/Ex-) Ok, this cover is nothing short of a freakin' nightmare to find in anything like decent condition. Literally, you could not possibly have come up with a trickier cover design to look after. Ha - unbelievable. 95% white and textured - without any lamination. So, take a look at other copies on-line - and take in just how bad these copies can look. Very few look clean and well cared for [more's the pity]. Firstly - somehow this copy has actually managed to stay properly white...this is incredibly unusual. Even some copies on-line might look white - but camera trickery has helped bleach the cover. What you see here is white - and that's what you'll get. Next issue - if a cover has got anywhere near damp - it will be game-over in 2 minutes straight. They will tarnish in the blink of an eye. I am pleased to report surfaces are clean untarnished and FLAT. At worst you might be able to pick out a couple of microscopic blemishes front and back. THE ONLY - one visible detraction is the sticker removal mark extreme top right on the front. We'd all prefer it not to be there -- but it is easily liveable against what is a stunningly well preserved copy in all other respects. There's almost no edge wear to speak of. The spine is 100% intact and untarnished - which is a minor miracle. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. You'd have a long search even equalling the standard on offer here.
Inner (Ex)  Good to see the standard on the cover is maintained on the inner. Lovely and white clean and untarnished surfaces. Four pointy corners. No wear and sharp openings. Stunning. No splits.
