Description
This is a fabulous of Joy Division’s incredible debut album on Factory Records FACT 10 released in 1979. This is without doubt the best copy of this album I have ever owned and is the desirable Ruby Red translucent Tranco pressing with first pressing textured outer sleeve and rounded inner sleeve. The vinyl has the “Porky Prime Cut” etching on the run out grooves with “This is the Way” on the Outside on “Step” on the Inside side. It has X and 1 stamper codes.
The cover of this copy has no scuffs, tears, rips, folds etc. The only flaws I can see are some very light ring wear on the front and rear cover and some light rubbing marks on the front and rear covers. There is some very light wear on the corners, a pinch mark on the edge of the spine and one light mark on the spine itself. I’ve tried to show these in the photographs. I would grade the cover as Excellent + using the Record Collector Grading system because “the cover and packaging might have slight wear or creasing”.
The inner sleeve is in excellent condition but there are a couple of marks which I’ve tried to show in the photos. One looks like a light red scuff.
The vinyl is In stunning condition and as you can see from the photos there are no scratches and the only signs I can see of it being played are some very light spindle marks around the hole. The only imperfections I can see on the vinyl are a couple of very small white marks which are hardly noticeable. I played the album through my Linn turntable and it had a strong clear and crisp sound with no noticeable clicks, pops, skips etc. I would have to again grade the vinyl as Excellent + but as “The record shows some signs of being played but there is very little lessening in sound”.

The record will be removed from its inner sleeve and will be shipped in a separate polythene lined record sleeve. The record, inner and outer covers will be packed protected in thick cardboard and will be wrapped with packing tape. A plastic outer sheet will protect the package during delivery and posting. “Fragile” tape will be fixed to the outside of the package.
