Judge Dread, 40 Big Ones.

1971 UK pressed Creole Records two LP set housed in gatefold sleeve, BIG 1.

Vinyl in generally very clean condition. Just a very few marks at the centre spindle areas. Vinyl surfaces have a high gloss still and are for the most part free of marks save for a few of the lightest of superficial paper scuffs. Track 2, side one, has a miniscule scuff mark and a dot of a grey patch which could be a pressing imperfection. This creates four or five consecutive but very low level soft ticks which do not really fetract from listening enjoyment. Track 1, side two, has a visible scuff mark affecting at least half the length of the track. This causes a number of audible low to mid-level ticks which do detract somewhat. Near the end of side four is a tiny scuff mark which causes just two barely audible soft ticks. The final track has another small dot of a greying patch, again probably a manufacturing imperfection. This is hardly a detraction, although really close listening reveals two or three of the lightest and quietest of "blips" rather than audible clicks. Else playback is clean throughout, and free of crackle or background noise.

Labels are clean and undefaced.

Sleeve in mostly clean and bright condition. No tears, pen etc marks to front, rear or inner. A couple of minor scrape marks to front. No seam splits, but some chipping and dinking to edges and tips. Minute closed tear to rear of sleeve at entry side.

A Note On Grading:

Note that audio grading is subjective and based on sensitivity of equipment used for playback. In this instance playback has been tested on a vintage Technics Quartz Direct Drive SL1700 MKII turntable with Shure cartridge, Technics SU-C 03 amp and Technics SB-F2 Linear Phase speakers.

Also note that I generally do not clean vinyl unless so noted. Most vinyl will show improved playback quality with your preferred cleaning method, but I leave this to the prospective buyer, as controversy still surrounds the ideal method of cleaning vinyl.
