Yes, Julie London albums were as popular for their covers as for the singing inside. But, in that, do not assume this “pretty face” to be an air-headed singer, as Miss London’s breathy style is actually quite captivating. Truth be told, it can haunt you.
This is a beautiful copy of her 1965 release, and is one of her very best, with great accompaniment by the Bud Shank Quintet of Joe Pass on guitar, Russ Freeman on piano, Monty Budwig on bass, Colin Bailey on drums, with Bud on alto sax and flute.
Great selections include YOU DO SOMETHING TO ME, SO IN LOVE, IN THE STILL OF THE NIGHT, I’VE GOT YOU UNDER MY SKIN, AT LONG LAST LOVE, and MY HEART BELONGS TO DADDY, among others.
Cover of this copy is crisp, like new; original heavy platter should play near mint, being very clean and shiny.
