Description
Welcome US and International bidders! This is a no-reserve auction for the Liberty “Visual Sound Stereo” LP Julie London “Sings Latin in a Satin Mood,” Liberty LST-7278. It is a NICE copy in my opinion, one that is MUCH, MUCH better than the average VG LP! MANY WOULD SELL THIS AS A VG+!
The second image is a photo, the rest are scans. I had to assemble the cover scans into two images, so that is why they look like they do. However, they show the cover very close to its actual color. PLEASE EXAMINE ALL THE SCANS AND PHOTOS CAREFULLY AND PLEASE READ THIS DESCRIPTION THOROUGHLY.
HEY< HEY—PLEASE DO NOT PAY ATTENTION TO THE SHIPPING ESTIMATE. I am not sure what it really will be, but it will likely be DIFFERENT THAN WHAT IS ABOVE. If you are the winning bidder, you will pay the actual shipping cost with no hidden upcharges. I can also ship by a cheaper means and will do my best to combine shipping for multiple items whenever possible.
If you are the winning bidder, you will pay the actual shipping cost with no hidden upcharges. ALTHOUGH I HAVE USPS FIRST CLASS LISTED ABOVE FOR US BIDDERS, I can also ship by other means to US eBayers and will try to combine shipping for multiple items if at all possible. International bidders, I prefer to ship USPS International First Class, as it costs less and is nearly as quick in many cases.
The winning bidder will have this LP shipped to them removed from its jacket.

AURAL GRADE: Comments on a listen of this copy of Julie London “Sings Latin in a Satin Mood” (Liberty LST-7278) played on a Technics SL-Q300 turntable trogh a Technics amp with a dished-out five-band EQ. I did NOT use headphones.
All tracks all bass lines CRYSTAL CLEAR.
Side A 1) Frenesi - Slightest noise.
2) Be Mine Tonight - Tiny noises.
3) Yours - James Bond theme feel to intro; slight noise.
4) Besame Mucho – Slight noises.
5) Adios – Some slight noises as Ms. London starts to sing.
6) Sway – Slight noise.
Side B 1) Perfedia – Cool arrangement with pizzicato strings; NEVER HEARD THE LYRICS BEFORE!
2) Come Closer to Me – Breathy, torchy—slight noise at opening of verse two vocal. Background is clear.
3) Amor - Noise at beginning with male background vocals.
Noisiest on LP, but still VERY CLEAR.
4) Magic is the Moonlight – Noisy intro, pop before flute solo, little noise at the end.
5) You Belong to My Heart – Noise at beginning with horns and vocals. Noise as Ms. London comes back in after instrumental bridge. Nearly as noisy as track 3 on this side.
6) Vaya Con Dios – Noise after initial guitar picking. Noise and maybe some slight distortion on vocals.
NO WARPING.

DESCRIPTION, PART ONE:
Comments on the Condition of the Label
A Side: I count 3 to 5 faint spindle trails (some of the spindle trails were not easy to see, even under bright light). There is wear at the spindle hole from 3.00 to 11.00 o’clock.
B Side: Again, there are faint spindle trails that are not easy to see, even under the light. I counted more here on the B side, 3 to 8 of them. There is also wear at the spindle hole from 1.00 to 11.00 o’clock.
DESCRIPTION, PART TWO:
Comments on the Condition of the Disc
A and B Sides: Under the 100 watt bulb, both sides show small, insignificant scratches. In spite of the dust on this disc, there is LOTS of factory shine.
DISC GRADE: I believe that this LP DISC grades as an Entry-Level VG + or an EXCEPTIONAL VG.
To quote author Neal Umphred, from Goldmine’s Price Guide to Collectible Jazz Albums 1949-1969, pages 16 and 17 (Copyright 1994 by Krause Publications), a Very Good+ (VG+) record “ . . . has been handled and played either infrequently or very carefully (this grade is sometimes referred to as “Excellent”). On a disc, this could mean that there are light paper scuffs from sliding in and out of a sleeve; the vinyl may have lost some— not all— of its original luster. A slight scratch that did not affect the play in an otherwise nearly Mint disc would be acceptably VG+ for most collectors; a scratch of any sort that audibly clicked throughout at a level greater than or equal to the music would not be acceptable. Always list the flaws in a VG+ record or cover.”
The reason I am not going with a straight-across-the-board VG+ is because of the hard-to-see spindle marks and a few more marks on the disc than I would like to see under the 100 watt bulb. IN MY OPINION, it is LOTS AND LOTS better than the average VG and not even in the same category. This is an opportunity to obtain this LP in close to a VG+ grade for less. AS I SAID PREVIOUSLY, MANY WOULD SELL THIS AS A VG+.
DESCRIPTION, PART THREE:
Comments on the Condition of the Jacket.
Seams (from the front):
Top: No splits. Some wrinkling, but NO splits.
Left: No spilts. The only bump/tear on this cover is at the lower corner; see below.
Bottom: 3/16 tear at LL corner, site of the only bump. Note that there is a 1½ inch wrinkle to the right of the tear, but it is NOT split.
Front: Some ring wear and some soling, particularly to the right above the photo of Ms. London. Colors are nice.
Back: The paper containing the back artwork is pasted on crooked and is canted toward the lower right. Near the top center of the pasted-on artwork is a sort of wedge-shaped 15/16 x 1/16 tear. The torn piece of paper is STILL ATTACHED.
Slight ring soiling on back that is hard to see and a vertical line of ink (a printing error in my opinion) toward the bottom of the artwork of Julie London’s face and head.
DESCRIPTION, PART FOUR:
Comments on the Condition of Inner Sleeve:
Both sides are yellowed with white lines at the glued seams. At the top of one side, there is a ½ x ¼ inch triangular, folded-down tear that is connected to a crease. It is still attached and can be found above the artwork for “50 Guitars Go South of the Border,” Volume 2. NO ZIP CODE ON CORPORATE ADDRESS!
PLEASE EXAMINE ALL THE SCANS AND PHOTOS CAREFULLY.
This item is sold “as-is,” without warranty implied, nor inferred. Please examine all the scans carefully. I have represented it as honestly as I can in this short description. Message me through the eBay system with any questions. Since I do this part-time, a reply might take 24 hours.
Please see my other auctions. Thanks!
