K. Frimpong & Cubano Fiestas original Ghana Afrobeat LP

K. Frimpong And His Cubano Fiestas - Same Ofo Bros OFBL 1011, Ghana 1975?
WOW! This is one of the classics of Ghanaian popular music yet it's increasingly hard to find, especially in this great condition. The prize track on this album is probably the (previously compiled) Kyenkyen Bi Adi M'awu which explores the boundaries between funk, afrobeat and highlife (the song was even sampled by Ghanaian hip hop artist Reggie Rockstone).  But the entire LP is a very strong effort. The sleeve mentions the 'best drummer in Africa' and if you listen carefully you'll realize they were not just talking nonsense.
Fortunately this copy spent its days in Europe and consequently it's less worn out than the typical African LP after three decades and you won't easily find a cleaner copy than this one. Some mild scuffs and little scratches but highly enjoyable and a great sound! The b side has some (mild) hiss pattern throughout which sounds like a pressing fault. Check the snippets.

Grading: Vinyl: a side is VG to VG+ and b side is VG with some pressing fault causing a mild hiss (listen to the snippets above!). Highly enjoyable copy overall. Sleeve: VG looks great
