KABORE OGER “Las Vacances” LP and “Ouagadougou” 45 (1970s ORIGINAL PRESSINGS!)
Kabore Oger is a famous singer from Burkina Faso. On the LP he is backed by everybody’s favorite afro-beat/funk/rock/latin band, ORCHESTRE POLY-RYTHMO from Benin. So the music is very tight and up-beat. The 45 is more acoustic-folk style but with some dreamy, atmospheric electric guitar over it. I’m not sure, but I’ve read that the LP was released in 1976 and the 45 a little bit later. I can’t find a date on either of them, though. Either way, both great records for fans of Burkina music, Orchestre Poly Rythmo, 1970s afro pop, etc. Check out both records at the clips below, presented with no audio modification/clean up at all.

Condition: Both records vary between VG and VG-, with some louder crackles along the outer edge. Still very enjoyable, but you can tell they’ve been to a few parties in their day. The sleeve of the 45 is VG-, with a chunk missing. There is some writing and dirt on the LP sleeve (there is also writing and an abrasion on the label of the LP, but you can still read what’s written on the label), but since it’s complete and still quite legible (including the lyrics on the back), I would grade it VG. Please check the photos and soundclips and judge for yourself.
