Wide Open is a progressive rock milestone and a consummate example of underground psychedelic hard rock at its most inventive and powerful. As the title suggests, it is a free-flowing and expansive musical blending of rock, blues and jazz, and to leaven out the sound there's a touch of acid folk thrown in for good measure. It's a very English-influenced sound but far from being a slavish copy of the overseas role model, the album bears a uniquely Australia flavour. With such an outstanding progressive rock album, Kahavas Jute rate alongside other heavy acid rock gems from the Southern Hemisphere -- Human Instinct's Stoned Guitar and Spacefarm. While these groups may have slipped under the carpet, fans of Cream, Blue Cheer, and the Jimi Hendrix Experience will find familiar territories explored on this explosive workout.
Little Wing of Refugees is a German label formed in 1988 in Regensburg, Germany, specialising in reissues of lost Psychedelic Rock and Progressive Rock releases in alternative covers. Their high quality and usually limited edition releases have become collectors items themselves. This fine copy of the Kahvas Jute album, given a limited edition release back in 1994, is getting almost as rare as the original!!
The vinyl album is in mint condition, it is unplayed, the sleeveis mint and and the inner sleeve is near mint, with some light creasing in one corner. You won’t find a better copy of this highly collectable limited edition album anywhere – if you can find one at all!!
Short of purchasing an original copy of the album at an extortionate amount of money, this is the next best thing, a limited edition re-issue that is becoming a collector’s item in its own right.
