Description
Kaleidoscope: "Faintly Blowing" 1969, UK/Fontana STL5491. Disc has lots of scuffs and hairlines, much of it plays M- but it gets a VG visual grade. Laminated gatefold cover is in nice EX to M- shape. One of the best pop psych LPs from the UK, and one of the last. It must've sounded pretty dated when issued in 1969 and thus it did not sell, making it hideously rare today... but viewed with a retrospective eye it's a total monster, having as it does a technical sophistication one would expect from a prog band despite a clear flowerpower sound. Punchy mod pop songs with wonderful melodic vocals, some orchestrations, tons of multi-tracked layers of sound swirl in and out... the closing track "Music" is totally mindboggling, full of the kind of studio trickery that George Martin might have come up with circa Sgt. Pepper. One of the most astounding LPs ever made in this bag!
