Description
I LUV WIGHT
"LET THE WORLD WASH IN" b/w "MEDIAEVAL MASQUERADE"
7" on the original PHILIPS RECORDS 6006 043 from 1970
AKA KALEIDOSCOPE, this lovely 'theme' song for the 1970 Isle Of Wight Festival, starring The WHO, BOB DYLAN, and JIMI HENDRIX to name a few, was somewhat ignored by public and radio DJ's, who tended towards the more obvious pop and prog-rock at the time. Kaleidoscope were just on the verge of changing lable to VERTIGO, and imminently renaming to FAIRFIELD PARLOUR too. Not that their sound was going to alter drastically, they were consistently a 'rural' acid-psych band.
For some reason, and probably because of their lable-contracts - they went under this pseudonym and hid their names on the lable-credits also. Peter Daltrey wrote the lyrics, but as the pics show, there were other names listed under the titles!
Still, a recording that is clearly CLASSIC of this great group, and could have easily fit seamlessly onto their LP 'Faintly Blowing'
The picture sleeve features the Isle of Wight Festival logo for that year - which was the same as on the advertising poster.
The original issue in lovely shape - playing and sounding fantastic.
The vinyl is pristine, NEAR MINT !!
The lables are clean and bright NM
The PICTURE COVER is EX+ with one small tear at the top-opening, and a couple of light spots.
