KAREL APPEL 'Musique Barbare'. One of the most wanted albums from my country. This is Psych before the term Psychedelic music was invented!! In 1963 KAREL APPEL recorded this album. IT'S A MONSTER!!!!!! KAREL APPEL is a living legend. Without a doubt the most famous abstract Dutch painting artist of the last 100 years! Appel himself says: "My work is no art, but the spontaneous adventure of now. I never try to make a painting - it's a cry - it's a child, it's like a tiger behind bars. I paint as a barbarian of this barbarous time". He recorded this album is Hilversum Holland. There, his intense feeling for colour and his complete detachment allowed him to mix a palette of sound and to compose from it as a challenge to convention and prejudice (Appel is by nature a challenger) what he has been pleased to call a triple suite, or, if one likes, a poem in sound... MUSIQUE BARBARE . Those who watched him at work and saw him handling the instruments , saw and heard something quite remarkable, someting unbridled. This extremely rare lp from 1963 comes with a glossy 30-page booklet with many full colour and black and white photo's of APPEL at work in the Studio. It's a HEAVY hardcover. The condition of the record is VERY CLOSE TO EXCELLENT (most would say it's EX.) The cover is also in a fantastic condition. Only a few tiny papermarks and the spine (made out of Jute) has some little wear. Overall in NEAR EX condition.This is not a record for bargain hunters but a serious item for a serious collector. Will be worth a small fortune in 15 years or so. I only accept PaYPal. For this album I will charge 2% for the PayPal fee or Cash in $ or Euro's.
