Kate Bush : The Whole Story

From my own collection this very early pressing plays with very impressive audio.  I remember I only played this once and even then I'm not sure if I played all the tracks!  There is just one mega faint spindle trace on each side.  A lovely gatefold also.

This is one very impressive vinyl!  I have always looked after my collection.  There are only a couple of very faint hairlines on each side and one small 'haze' area on the final track on S1 but this has no affect on the audio.  Needless to say there are no scratches and it retains a lovely, healthy glossy sheen.  The run out grooves and labels are also in superb condition.

Play grading  

'Wuthering Heights' has barely any static on the intro and then plays with stunning clarity and depth.  The audio is immaculate and rarely have I heard this classic play so well on such an early pressing.  There is just a little static right at the end of the fade out.  The other tracks on S1 also play with impressive audio but with a little static in some of the quieter sections.  This is case on 'The Man With The Child In His Eyes' but is very much in the background and it still plays with great clarity and no clicks or pops.  The vast majority of this side plays with superb clarity and I only mention the static to be complete in grading.  Having listened to many sections twice the depth and sonic quality is still of an excellent calibre and much of the side grades as Near Mint if not better!

  'Running Up That Hill' on S2 does start with static that is a little more obvious.  Thereafter it plays very clearly and with only a little static.  Again the sonic quality is very impressive here, the depth and separation is 'high end'. For a quiet track 'Army Dreamers' plays extremely well with only a handful of light dust ticks here and there, it really is a very impressive version.  I always go on a lot about clarity but that of course is how any vinyl should be judged.  The clarity here is stunning and the music just plays so clearly.  The remaining tracks are Near Mint without doubt.  There is no obvious 'background' and the closing track 'Babooshka' is stunning and is 'as new' the audio is mega impressive!  Indeed the vast majority of this side plays to a very high standard not often heard on such an early pressing.

The Gatefold

The glossy gatefold is in great condition with very little shelf wear.  The edges and wide spine are in superb shape with only one rub mark on the bottom edge of the back cover.  The cover is very clean overall but there is just a little 'spotting' near the spine bottom left on the front cover and a little more at the foot of the spine on the inside of the gatefold.  It is only minor and aside from that it is in wonderful condition.  There is hardly any corner wear and the opening edge has very little handling wear.  The back cover is in superb condition also.

They are in beautiful condition with no marking/writing and only one mega tiny spindle trace on each side.

Play tested on my Pro-Ject Essential III Turntable / B&W 684 Speakers

This record has been professionally cleaned on a Pro-Ject VC-S machine
