Description

     You are bidding on Kenny Burrell Blue Lights  featuring TINA BROOKS, LOUIS SMITH, JUNIOR COOK, DUKE JORDAN, BOBBY TIMMONS SAM JONES  ART BLAKELY.

        This is an original 1st issue deep groove Blue Note  1596 Volume 1. Great ANDY WARHOL COVER. . Cover is VG with some corner wear on all 4 corners.Visually on the vinyl there are some light scratches , ( two   can be felt on Track 2 and there is also a small nick that can be felt.  It’s been professionally cleaned with a VPI.   I’ve play graded using a  GOLDMUND REFERENCE TURNTABLE WITH A LYRA PARNASSUS MOVING COIL CARTRIDGE.  This is what you are hearing

Track 1 – Yes Baby. Up tempo beat sounds very good, just a slight background noise and not obtrusive – play graded VG+

Track 2  - Scotch Baby. Sounds good, there is a light ticking sound for apx 1 minute This is where there is the scratch that can be felt.  Plays  VG and still quite enjoyable.

Track 3 – Autumn In New  York – ballad , some  light background noise  with some ticks and pops, not obtrusive and does not overwhelm the music  – plays VG

Track 4 Caravan – Fast tempo, background noise barely audible. – plays VG++

 

This is an extremely rare LP and  I believe I’m being conservative in play grading this one. If you are looking for a near mint copy, or if some surface noise bothers you please do  not bid.
