Kevin Ayers “Joy Of A Toy” original LP on Harvest (EMI logo on labels, so not a very first press, but has identical A1 B1 matrix numbers to the 1st press, so is the same vinyl with the same superb sound, with the later style labels, if you follow me), excellent plus almost near mint condition!

I bought this new in the shop (Palmer’s in Sunderland) in the early 1970s and only played it carefully a few times. I had a quality system, so the LP itself is near mint with no defects at all. Catalogue number SHVL 763 with A1 and B1 matrixes.
No scratches, scuffs, hairline marks or any issues at all, a near-mint record, played a few times!
The inner sleeve is white with a poly liner. The laminated gatefold sleeve, made by Ernest J Day & Co, shows very little wear, and appears close to new overall. In detail, there is no ring wear as such, only a trace of the shape of the disc here and there, and a couple of handling creases, which were there when I bought it in the early 1970s. Only a little shelf wear, and no damage at all. It still looks flat and shiny overall, with a really nice spine and a couple of specks of dirt on the laminate in places, which will clean off. This is not damage, I wiped one or two off, they leave no impression, but would rather sell it in the condition I’ve kept it in than over-clean it. There is a tiny bump on the front bottom right corner, which was there when I bought it. Check the photos.
The record itself is about perfect, played only a few times using a “dust bug” cleaner, & the Harvest labels and vinyl are perfect with no issues. You will find it very difficult to find a better copy. The fact that this is an ”EMI” logo pressing but still has the first press matrixes shows how few copies were sold, and in this condition you are getting first press perfect audio!! I would grade this overall as between excellent plus and near mint.
