Description
Hello and welcome to one of my auctions! I am a record collector for over 15 years now and I think it’s about time to sell a couple records to make some room and pass it on to another collector. This week’s auctions feature my 60’s beat and psych and some 70’s progressive records that are from my own personal collection, so here we go!
On offer, a very rare 1st U.K. pressing of Kevin Ayers – Joy of a Toy on the Harvest label with NO EMI BOX, cat. no. SHVL 763.
The record is in VG minus to VG condition, besides a lot of hairline marks, there are a couple sounding scratches, mainly on side 2. The labels are in VG+ condition, there are some spindle marks and there is some slight wear along the spindle hole on both sides.
The gatefold cover is in VG condition, the spine is discoloured, so are the edges on both front and back. The back also as a crease and the previous owner has written his name and purchase date on the inside of the gatefold. Besides mentioned defects, there is not much wrong with this cover; no rips or tears or other unwanted damage.
This is an extremely rare 1st U.K. pressed Harvest debut album by Kevin Ayers called Joy of a Toy. Although the record is certainly well loved by the previous owner, the cover is still very nicely preserved. And besides that, original pressings of this album are extremely hard to find. I see this record more often with an EMI logo than withoud. This is an addition to every Harvest of Progressive music collector! Happy Bidding!
