Description

THE SWALLOWS KING 4501

Grade:  VG+/VG

It Ain't The Meat  b/w  Eternally

Description:  Rare, Rare, Rare!!! This gorgeous early KING pressed on blue vinyl will make a worthy centerpiece to any size collection. The VG+ AA-side shows some label flaking and a hint of storage ring. The VG A-side (Eternally) has a bit more ring, some vinyl scuffing, and plays with light but even surface noise consistent with the grade.

Note: A recent catalog from a major record dealer listed a polished "VG+" copy shown to have a lot more label wear at set sale for the outrageous price of $1,400.00, and it didn't last long before being snapped up! This record has not been polished and is absolutely guaranteed to be genuine. There is a modest reserve on this extremely rare auction item. I've been collecting records for over 40 years and my grading standards remain very conservative.  I guarantee each record to be as pictured and described.  Grading is both visual and audio, and I don't have five grades of Mint.  If you have any queries or problems please email me and I will do my best to help.  No-one wants negative feedback, and most problems can be resolved by email.

This record must be shipped via USPS insured or registered airmail, you will be advised of actual shipping and insurance/registered mail charge (plus $1.50 for packaging) at end of auction. I accept PayPal EFT, U.S. Money Order, or personal check drawn on U.S. funds (must clear). No credit cards. Winner will be promptly notified at end of auction. Payment is expected within ten days of notification of winning bid or item will be re-listed- NO exceptions. Please don't bid if you aren't going to buy; I report non-paying bidders.

Several questions as to authenticity- The color-corrected images I've just placed on my personal website http://stvnj.home.pipeline.com/king4501.html  are a bit more accurate representation of the record's appearance- I've also kept the original, un-altered eBay photos there to compare.  Very hard for me to capture that special KING blue/green vinyl color without distorting the label color, I back-lit the record for the photo by using my LCD monitor screen w/ a white screen, but the photos show too much blue.  This auction item is indeed an original 1951 pressing, and I unconditionally guarantee it to be the "real thing".  It was examined, played and graded by the owner of a local record store (name and telephone # supplied by email request) who specializes in original "oldies" just prior to this auction.  This record is NOT one of the bootleg "CS" series issued in the 70s, although my original photos would suggest that.    Sorry for any confusion or concerns, I am not a very good photographer.
