ORIGINAL JAPANESE PRESSING OF KING CRIMSON - IN THE WAKE OF POSEIDON LP - W/ OBI, INSERT, ETC. - NEVER PLAYED, BRAND NEW!
LOOKS LIKE IT WAS ALMOST PRODUCED YESTERDAY - PERFECT LP, SLEEVE, OBI + INSERT - IT'S GORGEOUS! At time of listing, this was the ONLY ORIGINAL Japanese pressing listed by a US seller...
I worked in record stores as a teen starting in the early 1971, and have had this remarkable psych classic 1st LP for nearly 50 years...she's NEVER been played, as I already had one at home. These LP's came in the front door + went out the back one with me by days' end, such was my love for all things Crimson. Regrettably, I was off the day this came into stock, so it has a price sticker on it (see pic 3), I left it there so I didn't scratch the sleeve trying to remove it...
***(I never stored my LP's in the record sleeves; hence no splits. Covers always in plastic sleeves, records always in rice paper + plastic sleeves; sure I'm nuts, but that's EXACTLY what you want when you're looking for rarities such as these.) Think Phil Hartman (RIP) as the anal-retentive chef from SNL when SNL mattered...that's me.
NO SPLITS IN COVER, NO FADING, NO SCRATCHES, NO FUNKY, MOLDY ODORS, HOLE PUNCHES, MOISTURE DAMAGE, PEELING, NOTHING TO DETRACT FROM ITS CLASSICAL PROG-ROCK, PROTO-METAL, MAGESTIC + MAGNIFICENT, MYSTERIOUS + MELODIC PSYCHEDELIC GLORY. THE 2nd LIVE LP FROM THE ONLY PROGRESSIVE BAND THAT TRULY MATTERS ANYMORE...AND IS STILL OUT THERE MAKING GLORIOUS MUSIC WITHOUT EMBARASSING THEMSELVES...sorry if you disagree. ( I USE GOLDMINE GRADING, AS I WAS A CONTRIBUTER AS WELL AS A SELLER IN GOLDMINE FOR ALMOST 15 YEARS...).
It's listed as new, cause it's NEVER been played, and Japanese LP'S were never sealed. Ever...I worked in the music industry for years as a player, writer, critic + occasional producer for small labels + soundtrack work. Now I'm old + creaky...but I was also an associate of Robert Fripp during the 80's.
