Description
A great opportunity to buy an ORIGINAL copy of a VINYL LP by King Crimson called "In The Court Of The Crimson King".
This is a U.K. pressing released in 1969 on the Island label (ILPS 9111 stereo)(smooth finished pink label with the "i" logo and gatefold sleeve). It has a total of 5 tracks:-
Side One:- 21st Century Schizoid Man; I Talk To The Wind; Epitaph (a) March For No Reason (b) Tomorrow And Tomorrow.
Side Two:- Moonchild (a) The Dream (b) The Illusion; The Court Of The Crimson King (a) The Return Of The Fire Witch (b) The Dance Of The Puppets.
The record is in a lovely clean and shiny NEAR-MINT condition, with only faint spindle marks evident with angled viewing to indicate it has ever been played. I have played it just the once all the way through and it plays and sounds SUPERB. I always grade and examine records under a bright table lamp and it is difficult to find anything other than a faint mark, which may well have been a transit scuff caused by the inner sleeve. Certainly any marks have no effect whatsoever on the superb sound quality. Apart from any minor blemishes, the record is in almost mint condition.
The labels are clean and free from any writing or defects.
The matrix numbers are:- ILPS 9111 A 2 1 2 1 3 and ILPS 9111 B 4 1 1 1 3.
The record is housed within its original plain white die-cut inner sleeve in very good condition, with just a crease in the top corner.
The gatefold picture cover is overall in a strong VERY GOOD condition. It is an unlaminated cover printed and made by Ernest J. Day Ltd. The colours are still very strong and appear to be unfaded. The outside cover itself has signs of some minor wear along the top and bottom edges and at the corners, probably from storage. The spine itself also has wear in places, particularly where the group's name is shown (see photo), otherwise the title is clearly readable. On the back cover there is a scratch approximately 14 cms long (see photo). These blemishes should not detract from what is a nice clean cover.
The inner gatefold cover has little in the way of wear to report and is clean and really EXCELLENT. The opening edge has minimal traces of feathering or wear.
Overall a great example of this highly collectable 41 year old record, particularly the quality of the vinyl.
