LABELS: EXCELLENT
Clean, bright and unmarked labels - moderate spindles
VINYL Visual: VERY GOOD
Both vinyl surfaces retain their original deep glossy sheen. Some marks are visible in normal light (including a notable but non-penetrating thumbnail mark on Schizoid Man which is purely cosmetic and doesn't sound) and numerous wispy hairlines visible under bright light, these again have little audible consequence
VINYL Audio: VERY GOOD+/VERY GOOD
Stunning audio reproduction throughout - deep, rich, warm, finely detailed and incredibly strong.
Side One begins with some surface noise on the quiet intro to '21st Century Schizoid Man' but once the track steamrolls in the playback is flawless. 'I Talk To The Wind' is beautifully clean and sounds gorgeous with just a few light (non-intrusive) ticks and 'Epitaph' plays with nothing to fault.
'Moonchild' is very generally clean with some (not unexpected) surface on the practically silent moments but there are about a dozen clicks (which rise above background) about 2 minutes into the track and some other isolated clicks on the rest of the piece. The title track itself itself however, plays with little fault.
I actually played 'Moonchild' at a very, very loud volume to highlight any of these audible surface issues so when the thundering drums at the beginning of "In The Court Of The Crimson King" kicked in the effect was electrifying - the sound quality is simply stunning
SLEEVE: VERY GOOD+
The matt sleeve is good and solid, clean and unmarked with no loss to the strong, vibrant colour but it displays general wear to the edges and spine though all spine text is still clear (please see close-up photos)
INNER SLEEVE: EXCELLENT
Clean and unmarked - some age related discolouration and a tiny snag at the top of the round die cut middle but overall very nice condition - no seam splits
