KING CRIMSON
In The Court Of The Crimson King
E J Day Sleeve
Gatefold Pink Label ISLAND Records
ILPS - 9111
This is a rare vinyl LP copy of "In The Court of the Crimson King" by King Crimson released in 1969 on the Island label (ILPS 9111). Includes an original E J Day gatefold sleeve, with inscription at the bottom inside fold, and pink textured Island label.
The cover is in very good condition, no stains or blemishes. Usual wear around the corners/edges. The colours are nice a bright. The spine is in exceptional condition for a record of this age. There is some visible shelf wear on the top right hand side of the cover, which is causing some splitting that can easily be repaired. Had it not been for this, the cover would easily grade as EX.
The labels have minimal spindle wear, they are in EX condition, although it should be noted that there is a slight blemish on the side 2 label cause by vinyl residue during pressing.
The record is in VG + to EX condition. Some crackling sounds are audible during “Moonchild”, nonetheless, the playback is great for a record of this age. There are some light hairline scratches that can be seen under light but they do not have any impact on the sound.
Matrix: Side 1: “ILPS 9111 A2”
Side 2: “ILPS 9111 B4”
The inner sleeve is the original British patent version. It is in very good condition with some staining and some minor splitting on the sides.
Tracks:
Side 1 – 21st Century Schizoid Man/I Talk to the Wind/Epitaph
Side 2 – Moonchild/The Court of the Crimson King
