Description
Up for auction is a copy of the King Crimson album "Red" originally released in the U.S. on Atlantic Records (SD 18110) in 1974.
-Guaranteed original U.S. pressing
-Monarch "MO" suffix on catalog number
-Monarch MR-circle mastering etched in run-out
-Paste-down cover
-NO UPC/bar code on cover
-Correct original Atlantic inner sleeve
Note:
Original first pressings had the Monarch "MO" suffix on the catalog number (on the label). Also, first pressings also had the paste-down slick on the back cover--later Presswell (PR) pressings did not have the paste-down back covers, which are very hard to find.
Condition:
Cover looks nice, light signs of wear. Moderate rubbing top and bottom middle (see photos) on front and back. Seams are good, no splits, just some light rubbing and a couple small chips. Corners are good, light rubbing. Factory cut-out notch in top left. Grade: Very Good Plus (VG+).
Vinyl looks nice, still has much of its original shine. Has a number of light superficial hairlines and tiny marks here and there that can be seen under a strong light, but nothing deep or serious--nothing that should affect the quality of the playback. Labels are clean, unmarked. Very good original copy. Grade: Very Good Plus (VG+).
