Up for auction is a beautiful original pressing of the King Crimson album Starless And Bible Black, originally released in the U.K. on Island Records (ILPS 9275) in 1974:
-Guaranteed original pressing, NOT reissue -Original "pink rim" Island labels -Original matte textured gatefold cover -Original inner sleeve w/ lyrics Matrix reads: -ILPS 9275 A-3U 1 R SARC -ILPS 9375 B-3U 1 AVR Sean + Ray -No UPC/bar code on cover -Vinyl comes in poly audiophile inner sleeve
Note: This is the nicest copy of this album that I've ever come across--it is archival, top copy!
Condition: These original textured covered were very prone to wear and discoloration, but this one looks almost pristine, like it was just taken out of the shrink. No signs of wear or age. Interior is clean, corners sharp, no seam splits or cracks. Very hard to upgrade. Keeper! Grade: Near Mint (NM)
Vinyl is also beautiful, still retains its original glossy shine. No apparently scratches or scuffs, perhaps just some faint superficial signs of having been taken out of inner sleeve a few time. No wear around spindle holes. Looks like this record has maybe been played only once previously but handled with care. Hard to upgrade. Grade: Near Mint (NM)

I remove the records with inner sleeves from the covers prior to packing. I sandwich the record between two pieces of cardboard for padding and protection. I also reinforce the corners of the shipping box to protect the corners of the record jacket from damage.
