"Boog-A-Loo" is an almost TOTALLY UNKNOWN version of Don Gardner's northern soul / mod dancer "My Baby Likes To Boogaloo". It's a fanastic version and one fine piece of gritty and heavy soul/r&b. The flipside is a frantic take on James Brown's "Good Lovin'". This is an extremely rare 45. It just never turns up.

King George was an american artist who moved to Sweden in the 60s and was active in Scandinavia. He also released some very in-demand records as The King George Discovery and also the great "Please Grow Up" with the Harlem Kiddies. Don Gardner was also active and did tours and recordings in Sweden during the 60s. Don Gardner even released an LP on swedish Sonet! My theory is that somewhere along the way, King George and Don Gardner met or played together while in Sweden and Don presented his "My Baby Likes To Boogaloo" for King George. Or perhaps Don played it live during his concerts in Sweden? In any case it's a seriously obscure version and just as rare as the version by Lewise Bethune (called "Chi-Town Boogaloo") on the SACK label.

Vinyl condition: VG (LOTS of light scratches, plays with some clicks, but overall plays much better than it looks, have a listen below!)
