About the Album
Aha Shake Heartbrake is the album that broke the Kings worldwide. While the UK has been their adopted home-land, the U.S really took notice after this exceptional release. It’s there most complete album to date. Thirteen songs of rip-roaring blues & country inflected rock n’ roll. This title, along with their debut are perhaps two of the most important releases of recent times. Kings of Leon releases on vinyl are rare and becoming highly sought after as each is a limited edition. They’ve achieved international success and can only become bigger. Therefore, early vinyl releases are now modern collectables.
Gatefold Sleeve, Inner Sleeve, Vinyl & Labels
The gatefold sleeve is a strong Excellent with the occasional crease and minor corner wear. It’s retained its jet black colour and is free of stains, tears and writing. The picture inner-sleeves are almost perfect apart from a few very small creases. I’ve graded the clear vinyl as Excellent- as mild surface noise can be heard on the run-in grooves to certain tracks, along with infrequent pops during playback. These are few and far between and they certainly don’t detract from superb clarity and depth of sound.
In my opinion this album sounds far superior on vinyl as the music just leaps from the speakers particularly on tracks like King Of The Rodeo. The labels are very clean with no blemishes, staining or writing. There’s only very minor spindle wear noticeable under direct light. This is a wonderful modern collectable.
