KINGS OF OBLIVIAN - Big Fish Popcorn
Bam Caruso KIRI 064 (UK) 1987
Baby Smells (Of Sand) - The Greyhound Bus To Margeholes - Automatic Mind Command - Helmo Didn't Laugh - The Greyhound Bus Reprise - Big Fish Popcorn - Do The Stiggy (Iggy Iggy) - This Band - The House That Zit Built - The Big Fish Variations - It's Great Being A Girl - Tales Of Vic & Kenny - Herman's Helmet - Liquidy Headbox
This LP seems to be a loving tribute / parody of 1967 era Frank Zappa & The Mothers Of Invention perpetrated by Jakko M. Jakszyk (King Crimson, Level 42) as his alter ego Mario "Fat Man" Vanzetti & his partner in crime Gavin Harrison (Renaissance, Porcupine Tree) aka Helmo "Hairdo" Hudson.
Included in this LP is a handwritten note from an A&R rep from WEA to someone named "Don" (Don Preston perhaps?). Seems the A&R guy is suggesting that there is tons more where this came from if Don was in fact interested. The note asks the recipient of this package to pass this LP along to Frank Zappa. Interesting.
