1964 debut single
This is one of the rarest of the Kinks singles, especially in the US. The group stared their career with this single for Cameo and it pairs up their version of the Little Richard tune “Long Tall Sally” with their own original “I Took My Baby Home.” The single went almost unnoticed in the US, and once the Beatles hit it big, the Kinks had already found a new home at Reprise Records where their next 45 “You Really Got Me” launched them into a whole new career. Long forgotten, this original Cameo single is quite scarce these days, especially as a stock copy – which is far more rare than the promo. This is also on VINYL – not one of the terrible sounding styrene pressings Cameo shoved out.
