Description

You're bidding on the 2011 re-press of this stunning document of free jazz/world fusion, released on the French Klimt label (cat. no. MJJ318). This was recorded live at the Donaueschingen Music Festival on October 17th 1971, and there's so much going on here. The band contains Peter Brötzmann, Terje Rypdal, Tomasz Stanko, Kenny Wheeler, Albert Mangelsdorff and Han Bennink, and the sound is fresh and wonderful. From Indian chants and avant-garde classical to modal free jazz and Afro-funk, there's something here for fans of all eras of Don Cherry's time on the planet. Gatefold LP with extensive notes.
