Description

Karel Appel "Musique Barbare" Original LP + Book (No litograph)
Released in 1963 on WVB Label. Rare pressing.

In 1961 Dutch cineaste Jan Vrijman made a documentary about Appel, which featured the artist at work in his studio. For this film, Appel created the soundtrack, Musique Barbare, in studios in Utrecht and Hilversum. Like his paintings, the music was spontaneous and expressive, created by utilizing percussive instruments and electronic sound.
The album packaging is a piece of art in itself, featuring an oversized heavy cardboard book with many pictures of the recording.
The book spine is torn on top (see picture). Some of the pages of the book are loose. But the book is still in good condition.
The lp is in very good condition.
