Description

Another very interesting Großdeutscher Rundfunk 78 rpm record, this time with part of a performance from May 5, 1940 of Franz Léhar with the Vienna Philharmonic. This was a Kraft Durch Freude propaganda concert highlighting Léhar's classic operettas with the composer at the helm, this disc has the number 'Mädel Klein, Mädel Fein' from his 'Der Graf von Luxemborg'. 5 days before this concert on April 30 he received the Goethe Medal from Adolf Hitler for his achievements, and 5 days after the concert the Germans would invade and occupy Luxembourg.


The disc is in shining E condition and aside from a bit of faded writing around the outer rim looks great. The label Reichsadler is uncensored.
