Description
I'll be selling a few doubles from my collection this week, all records were bought and lovingly cared for until the moment their more desirable siblings showed up. Now I am making thm available to you.
I grade by strict Goldmine standards, I don't believe grades like G++++ or VG++++ exist, nor do I grade any of these records NM-.. I'm conservative and hoest with my grading. If you disagree we can always work something out.
For the sake of clarification, here are the grades.
- Mint (M) Absolutely perfect in every way.
- Near Mint (NM or M-) A nearly perfect record.
- Very Good Plus (VG+) A Very Good Plus record will show some signs that it was played and otherwise handled by a previous owner who took good care of it.
- Very Good (VG) Many of the defects found in a VG+ record will be more pronounced in a VG disc. Surface noise will be evident upon playing, especially in soft passages and during a song's intro and fade, but will not overpower the music otherwise. Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as with light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound.
- Good (G), Good Plus (G+) Good does not mean Bad! A record in Good or Good Plus condition can be put onto a turntable and will play through without skipping. But it will have significant surface noise and scratches and visible groove wear (on a styrene record, the groove will be starting to turn white).
- Poor (P), Fair (F) The record is cracked, badly warped, and won't play through without skipping or repeating.
The record is Kenny Burrell's Blue Lights, a 50s session featuring Junior Cook, Tina Brooks, Louis Smith and other notables.
The pressing is a later Liberty mono pressing and is in VG/VG+ shape. There are some minor scuffs, but nothing noticible on playback. The cover is also VG/VG+, the cover graphics are nice and there is no mention of "liberty" on the front or back. The only thing about this cover is that there is a small amount of paper loss near the lower left corner (see pics) and the top seam looks as if it's starting to split from the opening edge.
Overall this is a good looking record, for you jazz collectors, and for you Warhol collectors the cover will frame out nicely.
Italian bidders, you will need to pay for tracking of some sort if you want me to even consider shipping this to your country.
