Description

An original 1st press of LTIA on UK Island. Matrix 2/2 - 1st cut. Etching 'Sark'. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original uncredited cover with pinched spine. The 1st issue covers also still mention the original 'Basing St.' address for Island on the rear. We also have an original lyric inner sleeve which, once again, still mentions the 'Basing St.' address. So, we're 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In super condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with very slightest deviation in a couple of spots. So, just need to reiterate THIS IS CRIMSON - and when it comes to fussy audio... these guys are the benchmark! So, even reaching a clean Ex on this title - you're already well ahead of the pack. Side 2 plays pretty much faultless at or above Ex throughout [can't fault]. Even the super quiet section with a fly noise buzzing - perfectly quiet. Side 1 - I just detected some [what I would describe as] low-level presence in a couple of brief spots [in the uber quietest moments]. Nothing remotely upfront - this is very low level stuff which is only vaguely detectable because this is Crimson. I'd argue this is a consistently high standard. One that can get you right into the zone with Crimson. Not perfect throughout - practically speaking no copy will be. But highly impressive for 90%+ of the time.
Cover (Ex-) I find this cover a total pain to find in excellent condition. It will either have a lot of handling wear, or aged, or will having foxing spots - or all of the above! But this example is looking, in my humble opinion, extremely tidy. Firstly, seems to have pretty much avoided the ageing process on the front. Nice clean and smooth surfaces - no stupid hype stickers to ruin the aesthetic. Very little wear observable. The rear is exhibiting perhaps just the lightest touch of ageing [much better than what typically surfaces]. Nice clean unworn edges and sharp openings. The spine is lovely looking - 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) Really difficult to find looking like this. Only some light ageing apparent. very tidy - no splits.
