Description
For your consideration is a near mint copy of the Japanese Blue Note King Records Release by Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers “Moanin’” (GXK8044) pressed in Japan between 1977 and 1983. I purchased this album about a decade ago from a great ebay seller living in Japan, Rontokyo. I purchased dozens of Japanese Blue Note albums from him and was never less than amazed at the quality of the pressings. I had always heard that the King pressing were preferred over the other Japanese Blue Note options. They truly rival the original US releases. They were typically made from the original tapes to virgin vinyl, and with no exceptions all of the albums I received from Ron were near mint or better.
I recently discovered that I actually have this album in duplicate. I am an audiophile with a high end resolving system and I listened to it entirely just before Thanksgiving, and have play graded it as near mint. The background of both sides is essentially silent. The labels have no spindle marks, and the cover is near mint and without flaws. It will arrive with an outer sleeve, the original cover with original OBI banner strip, the original Japanese half moon record sleeve and the original Japanese package insert. It has been cleaned with a Nitty Gritty record cleaning machine. I have been an ebay member for almost 20 years, regularly selling items with perfect feedback, but I have not listed LPs until very recently. I have no interest in becoming an LP reseller, and will only list LPs that have been in my collection and that are in near mint or better condition. I have no interest in overgrading LPs and getting into disputes about what is and isn't near mint. The condition of this LP is not in question. I am planning to list a few LPs per week over the next several months including some additional Japanese Blue Note Jazz releases, so please stop by again to see what I will list next week.
