THE KINKS - 'THE VILLAGE GREEN PRESERVATION SOCIETY'
This influential landmark album is arguably the crown jewel in the Kinks album catalogue. It was released the same day as The Beatles' 'White Album' - 22nd November 1968.
This wonderful sounding 15-track 1st UK MONO pressing (with a true dedicated mono mix), is on the pale blue & black Pye records label: NPL.18233

Housed in a front laminated, inner-flipback gatefold cover with mono catalogue number on the rear panel.

A vibrant unblemished set with just a small number of tiny, well-aimed spindle marks around each totally unworn centre hole.
Visual: EXCELLENT +
Exceptional deep-gloss playing surface which retain all of their 'as new' shine. they are completely free from any dull or cloudy patches from poor storage conditions or any groove-whitening from overplay. In fact, apart from a single non-feelable 3cm scuff in side 1, both sides are unmarked in strong daylight. Closer examination directly beneath my unforgiving, powerful halogen desk lamp reveals nothing more than a small number of harmless wispy paper hairlines. Both sides of this high-quality, very heavy disc lie 100% flat on the turntable when playing.
Sound Quality: EXCELLENT +
This wonderful true mono mix is presented here in outstanding unworn sound quality. Carefully played on top-quality equipment only, my single careful play-check at volume found no trace of any groove/playwear distortion on any track or in either channel. The only distractions I detected were a few light ticks at the beginning of 'Sitting By The Riverside' & a little light background between tracks on side 2. However, there are certainly no other audible distractions whatsoever on this hugely enjoyable which will not disappoint for sound.
Cover: GOOD
Due to it's fragile construction this example, like so many others, is a quite tired and shelfworn. The delicate front leaf is clean with some wear around the exposed edges and the rear panel is clean & bright no writing or significant wear. The inside of the gatefold is clean & unworn with just a small split to the upper end of the centre hinge. There is some flaking to the leading edge of the rear pocket and the spine, but no splits to any seam or other major faults.
Inner-sleeve: VERY GOOD +
Clean & flat with minor storage wrinkling, but no writing, tears or seam splits.
