Fact: despite the name and our well-documented preference for Cologne beer, KÖLSCH is not a Rhinelander and it has not named itself after the local brew. Even internationally highly traded hits and a series of high-profile live performances don't seem to change the fact that the award-winning Danish producer Rune Reilly Kölsch regularly has to grapple with confused questions about his own name. And yet it couldn't be clearer: just think of established hallway favorites like OPA, DER ALTE or SILBERPFEIL... these track titles all refer to Rune's memories of a childhood in Germany. In other words: yes, it's really called that.
1977 isn't just a soulless best-of mix: with brand new hits like BASSHUND, BAPPEDECKEL and EISWINTER in the fire, KÖLSCH really doesn't need to think about the future history of its work.
