Complete Opera Recording
Franz Konwitschny conducts the States Capella and the Choir of the German States Opera, Berlin.
With Fischer-Dieskau, Schech, Frick, Schock, Wunderlich and others.
German Eterna white label stereo- promo pressings from the early 60s. 3LPs with booklet.
The box is actually for the mono-pressing (Article-No. 820 164-166), but the print on the promos clearly shows it's the stereo version (Article-No. 825 164-166 instead). I playgraded some parts and it's definitely the stereo mix. Don't be mislead by the fact that the 2nd label shows 825 664 instead of 825 164, this obviously was a typo made by the person who built the stamp. It's definitely the fitting 2nd LP of this set and actually all the more proof for how singular this copy really is.
The booklet is dated to '61, so it's one of the first original stereo-copies of this recording ever made (definitely earlier than a first press ASD 385/7 for which most likely the same master tapes were used). I have never seen a green/white labelled stereo of this set so far, so if it has been actually produced, it's obviously very hard to come by.
