"BILBO" ETCHED IN RUN OFF GROOVE ON BOTH SIDES

THE SLEEVE

NON LAMINATED SLEEVE WITH EMBOSSED MOTORWAY SYMBOL, INDICATING A FIRST ISSUE SLEEVE.

THE FRONT SURFACE IS FLAT AND VIRTUALLY SPOTLESS.

THE REAR SURFACE IS IN EXCEPTION CONDITION

THE TOP AND BOTTOM EDGES ARE TOTALLY CLEAN, AND THE OPENING EDGE IS RAZOR SHARP, AND I DON'T BELIEVE THE LP HAS BEEN OUT OF THE SLEEVE MORE THAN A COUPLE OF TIMES.

THE SPINE IS PERFECTLY LEGIBLE

THE CORRECT PAPER INNER SLEEVE  IS INCLUDED AND IS IN EXCELLENT  CONDITION

THE LABELS

ORIGINAL FIRST ISSUE VERTIGO SPACESHIP LABELS WHICH ARE NEAR MINT WITH A SMALL AMOUNT OF SPINDLE WEAR ON SIDE 2 ONLY.

THE VINYL

ABSOLUTELY IMMACULATE, NOT A MARK ON IT, AND EVEN UNDER STRONG LIGHT IT IS HARD TO MAKE ANY THING OUT AT ALL, PERHAPS THE ODD WISP LINE FROM REMOVAL, BUT REALLY NOTHING. THIS IS ABOUT AS MINT AS YOU CAN GET

GENTLY LOWERING THE STYLUS ONTO SIDE ONE, I AM IMMEDIATELY IMPRESSED BY THE SILENCE OF THE RUN IN GROOVE. THIS IS VITAL IF THIS IS GOING TO PRODUCE THE SOUND QUALITY THAT A MINT LP WILL GIVE, AS THERE ARE MANY MANY QUIET PASSAGES OF MUSIC, AND ANY BACKGROUND NOISE IS GOING TO RUIN THE ALBUM.

FIRST THING TO NOTE IS THAT THERE IS NO DISTORTION TO THE SOUND WHICH I DIDN'T REALLY EXPECT THERE TO BE FROM A ONCE PLAYED ALBUM, BUT YOU NEVER CAN TELL UNTIL YOU ACTUALLY PLAY THE RECORD. IF YOU HAVE NEVER HEARD THIS LP BEFORE YOU ARE IN FOR A STEREOPHONIC TREAT AS THE PRODUCTION AND STEREO SPLIT ON THIS VINYL IS JUST AS THE AMERICANS WOULD SAY "AWESOME"

THE ENTIRE LP IS JUST IMMACULATE, JUST AS YOU WOULD HAVE RECEIVED IT BACK IN 1974 ON THE DAY OF PURCHASE

WITHOUT A DOUBT THIS GRADES AS A MINT ALBUM, AND IN MY OPINION WILL NEVER NEED UPGRADING

Condition:

BOTH THE SLEEVE AND VINYL ARE NEAR MINT.AS STATED BEFORE WE HAVE NOT SEEN A BETTER COPY IN THE 25+ YEARS WE HAVE BEEN BUYING AND SELLING VINYL.STUNNING!

AUDIO QUALITY ALSO SUPERB!

Grading System: In order to assist everyone who buys and sells rare discs, Record Collector magazine has originated a set of standards for the condition of second-hand records, cassettes and CDs. We adhere as closly as possible to this grading standard. The seven standard condition categories, and a description of what each one means, are listed below:

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD:The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
