Description
Highly sought after original Japanese pressing of the classic and ridiculously influential album Trans - Europe Express.
Album has been in storage for many years and played once 10 years ago.
Disc is in near mint condition. Japanese pressings are highly sought after for the lustre of the vinyl and sound quality and this disc was manufactured by Toshiba in 1977. There are some light spindle marks on the label and signs of foxing but only when held up to the light. The label is orange, so it is not noticeable. The grooves are near immaculate, although the disc has not been played for many, many years and may need a clean if there is any surface noise from dust/static but disc has been stored in a Japanese plastic sleeve for at least 20 years and sounded glorious then.
Lyric insert: Excellent condition. Just starting to dis-colour with age but is not especially noticeable. See Photo.
Inner Sleeve: Good condition. This has one split seam on the right hand side. LP has never been stored in this sleeve in the 20 years I have owned it and it was split when I bought it. One or two light brown age spots and some browning on the sides but this album has been stored in a record box for over 10 years and the paper is simply aging. I like to be as accurate and conservative as I can but please do look at the photos.
Jacket: Good condition. Edge wear is present on all sides but has no splits. There is a corner crease on the top left and bottom right of the sleeve. These were present when I purchased it 20 years ago and LP has been stored in a plastic sleeve since then. For its age (36 years), the sleeve is in extremely good condition and none of the blemishes detract from the fantastic picture on the front. The obi strip conceals the top left corner wear.
The back cover had already browned when I purchased it. Overall jacket condition: Good.
Obi strip is un-torn and in very good, just short of excellent condition.
This is a rare album and would make a perfect Christmas present for a vinyl enthusiast seeking classic original copies of sought after albums. I will ship on the day the auction ends first class to get it wherever before Christmas. UK BIDDERS ONLY PLEASE! If you want any other postal service please let me know and I will get a quote before sending. Starting price includes a high quality PVC outer sleeve.
