The selection was by Can's UK friend Duncan Fallowell, and originally only released in the UK on United Artists Records. The Spoon reissue had a different cover and was also licensed to Celluloid in France. CAN is one of a few internationally known “Krautrock” groups; they are famous for their repetitive and hallucinatory sound. This predominately German band was way ahead of the curve in the late 60’s and early 70’s. They are often credited with being the first to use tape loops and sampling. Their music simply made the most out of available technology while at the same time maintaining an organic sound. That is why they are essential to anyone who considers themselves a music lover today. OOP in the US. Originally released in 1978. If you’ve heard a Can album, you’ll still be hard-pressed to describe it’s musical secrets. If you haven’t heard a Can album, then this may be the doorway into a new way of listening to music. While some tracks do have basic song structures, others float around the room like anxious helium balloons, never knowing where they will land until they get there.
